Who Was Jesus?

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. –John 20:31 NIV

You may have heard people say Jesus was a good man, a prophet, religious leader, and a rabbi. You may have also heard that He is the Son of God—that He was truly a man who walked on the earth in Israel 2,000 years ago. The Bible is the most widely distributed and best-selling book in the world. If you are a Bible-believing Christian, then you believe Jesus is the Son of God. John 3:16 (NIV) is one of the most well-known verses quoted: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This truth in Scripture should give you great comfort and hope. He is the perfect Gift from above. Jesus’ love will never change. He is the Source of everything good. His name means “Savior,” “God with us.” He is alive today. If He were not, you would still be in your sins. So, the question is not who Jesus was, but who Jesus is. He is your living Savior, great High Priest, Immanuel, and “God with us.” Believe and trust!
