…you believe in God, believe also in Me. –John 14:1 NKJV
Do you know the pain of seeing your hopes crumble? Do you wonder how to push forward in faith when your plans are frustrated? In this life, relationships end. Circumstances change. Disappointment and frustration take hold. We want answers, explanations, understanding, and assurances. By pushing aside our demands, Jesus whispers a challenge, “…Believe in God. Believe also in Me.” Sometimes that has to be enough. Sometimes you don’t get answers or guarantees of fulfilled expectations. But you do get Jesus.God isn’t disappointed when you react to unexpected circumstances with strong emotions. But as you develop spiritually, you should wind up in the same place the apostle Paul did: leaning on Christ, which gave Paul the ability to endure whatever came his way (Philippians 4:13). Changing your perspective begins where everything in the Christian life begins…with Jesus. Choose to believe, not because of anything you see, but only because you have met and know Jesus personally.
God, calm my anxious heart and help me trust You, even in difficult days.
Jesus, I acknowledge that I’m angry and frustrated. Help me continue to believe in You even through my brokenness.
