Time to Detox?

Everyone who has this hope in him [Jesus] purifies themselves, just as he is pure. –1 John 3:3 NIV

Daily, all kinds of stuff can build up on your hair. When this happens it feels weighed down, looks greasy or dull, and becomes unmanageable. Best hair tip advice: buy a good clarifying shampoo that will get rid of the buildup and impurities. The results? Your hair will be more manageable, won’t feel weighed down, and the shine will return. You may even say, “I should have done this a long time ago.”The same is true with your life and soul. Daily living has a way of building up too many obligations, which in turn begins to weigh your spirit down. You feel sluggish, as though you lost your flare and shine for life. Guilt and shame from sin has a way of building up inside, too. Left unattended, it has the power to make you feel unworthy of receiving God’s help and forgiveness. What’s the remedy? Detox your life and purify your soul. To get rid of outward and inward buildup, simplify your life and repent of any sin. Like King David pleaded with God for forgiveness and cleansing, you need to profess, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10 NKJV). Life will become manageable, you’ll be rejuvenated, and you’ll shine for Christ again.
