For the word of God is alive and powerful…. –Hebrews 4:12 NLT
In this verse, “word” comes from the Greek word logos, which means “what has been said, spoken, explained, and transmitted.” The Bible is the written communication of God. In it, we find His thoughts, plans, promises, and instructions. God’s Word is likened to seed in Luke 8:4. The Bible contains everything it needs to actively work and produce the fruit of what God has said (Isaiah 55:10-11). When received, it always accomplishes God’s purpose—like a fire that consumes anything that doesn’t pass the test of truth. God’s Word is like a hammer that breaks into pieces the rock of stubborn resistance (Jeremiah 23:29). When you receive God’s Word, allowing it access to your heart and declaring it as your own, it has the power to bring life, to change what looks impossible, and to heal and restore even the most resistant situations. What unwanted habits in your life have stubbornly resisted change? What dreams need resurrecting? Where do you need healing and restoration? Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to His specific Word for your situation. Receive it as your own. Declare it every day.
Thank the Lord that you belong to Him, that He loves you, and that His Word is working in your life.
Ask the Lord to reveal areas in your life that need His Word and to lead you to specific verses to receive and declare.
