The Least of These

The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” –Matthew 25:40 NIV

While crossing the road, he tripped and dropped the cup he was holding. All of his coins scattered to the ground. Our driver stopped the car and ran to help him. It was a beautiful act of kindness. This was a Jesus moment in a place where crime is rampant. It was proof that darkness can never overpower light and that love conquers all. I could see Jesus not only picking up the coins but loving the man in his brokenness. Opportunities to be the Lord’s hands and feet are everywhere; we just have to be alert and available. What we do for the least of our brothers it is like doing it for Jesus. Our driver displayed love in action. While everyone else just watched, He demonstrated love. Let your life reflect the love of Jesus so that darkness has to flee.

prayer focuses

Lord, help me to show love in actions, not just in words.

Father, give me eyes to see opportunities to be love.
