Are you experiencing negative feelings about yourself because of what someone did to you or names you were called in the past? Perhaps you have been labeled, abused, or the victim of gossip. You may be holding on to something that was said that hurt you deeply in your childhood, or it may be something that was said yesterday. Such a lack of confidence can limit your response to God’s call on your life.
As a child of God, you must see yourself through the eyes of Jesus. John 1:12 (NKJV) explains, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” You are redeemed and saved by grace. As a child of the King, you have to rise up when God gives you opportunities, and with God’s strength and courage, step into God’s call on your life. You have been given gifts to enable you to serve in the Kingdom. Don’t let labels keep you in bondage and keep you stuck. Get off of the mat as the man did in John 5:8-9 (NKJV). Jesus said, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
Lord, help me to fully understand that I am Your child, and to minister, as Your ambassador, to each person I encounter today.
Lord, help me to let go of past hurts and not allow them to define who I am. Help me to always remember that I am Yours.
