When we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, our thoughts and actions should be transformed. Second Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) tells us, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” Yet, we still fall short at times, as we often want our own way and we are prideful. But, thankfully, God’s love is unconditional and unending.
Psalm 103:8 (ESV) tells us, “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” We may miss the mark at times, but we are not without hope. God sent His Son into a dark world so we could be set free. Jesus purchased our life by the shedding of His blood on the cross. His sacrifice brought us into a relationship with the Father who adopted us as His children. Just as an earthly father does not expect perfection, neither does our Heavenly Lord. But, we are made perfect in Christ. This is a reality that we can trust when we fall short. Our Lord’s arms are always open as we run to Him with repentance.
Thank the Lord for His mercy and forgiveness.
Praise the Lord for His steadfast love.
