Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. –Genesis 3:8 NIV

How often do you wish that you could hide? Sometimes, when you are aware of your sinful actions and you know they are not pleasing to God or others, you may feel like hiding. But such attempts would be futile. As the Lord explained in Jeremiah 23:24 (NLT), “Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?”
God is not looking for perfection. The Lord sees you just as you are, and He knows that you will fail at times. But His Son Jesus offers forgiveness and grace. You don’t have to feel afraid or ashamed. Your Heavenly Father already knows what you will do and what you will say before it happens. At times, your actions may not please God; but, through Christ, you are delivered in spite of them.
If Jesus is your Lord and Savior, when God looks at you, He sees Jesus. His Son’s righteousness is covering you. Your identity is now found in Christ, and your faith in Him sets you free. You are loved unconditionally because of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross, and you never have to hide like Adam and Eve. Your hope is spending eternity with the Lord.
Thank God, the Father, for your loving savior—Lord Jesus Christ!
Praise God that you are His child and that you never have to hide.
