Blind Man's Bluff

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. –John 10:27-28 KJV

Have you ever played “Blind Man’s Bluff”? This game is played by blindfolding a person who then randomly feels his or her way around a room, trying to find people by the sound of their voices. The players might say, “I’m over here,” or “Woo hoo, this way,” but then they move away quickly as the “blind man” draws near. Are you walking through life blindfolded, listening to voices that will lead you to the edge of a cliff? The evil one seeks to destroy your witness, steal your joy, and even take your very life. Some voices are hard to ignore; but you can challenge them, discerning whether or not they are from the Lord. His voice is clear in the Bible. God would never tell you something contrary to His own Word. Are you close to doing something that you would want to keep a secret because of embarrassment? This is a clear sign that the action is not directed by God. If you dare to ask the Lord your questions, you’ll get your answers. God is never silent. The more time you spend with Him, the easier it will be to discern His voice. You recognize your spouse’s voice, as well as that of your child. And, if you listen for the Lord’s voice, you will hear it.
