Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.” –Jeremiah 1:12 ESV
God’s Word is alive and powerful. The Word is like fire, consuming whatever doesn’t stand the test of truth, and like a hammer, breaking apart any rock of resistance. God’s Word is the Spirit’s sword, our weapon in warfare. The Word is also likened to a seed. It has inherent power to produce what it says. When planted in good soil, it will bring forth that fruit. Your heart, the core of your being, is the soil. When you hear God’s Word, faith comes. When you choose to believe and receive that Word as Truth, you plant that seed in the soil of your heart. Once planted, the Word goes to work. Water that seed by speaking it, acting on it, and using it in prayer. And be patient, allowing the seed time to produce its fruit. Your circumstances may scream, but God’s Word is more powerful. What has God already said about your situation? Will you believe what God has said or your circumstances instead? Like a good farmer, plant the Word in your heart. Guard your heart from the enemy’s lies. Be patient and do not quit. The Word will produce, and you will reap its harvest.
Father, I desire to be a seed planter and a Word producer.
Show me where I have believed lies and reveal Your truth to me. God, I believe and receive Your Word as Truth concerning my situation. Help me to stand strong until its fruit is produced.
