Have you ever been around a newborn? They can’t do anything for themselves—except let the world know when they’re frustrated. And, in general, people LOVE it! People love infants. In fact, people love babies so much that it’s been said that “There are no ugly babies.” (You’ll have to judge that one for yourself!)In a family, the arrival of a newborn is exciting—the older sibling proudly wears the “I’m the Big Brother/Sister” t-shirt while carefully holding the baby under mom’s watchful eye. Life is beautiful…until the baby becomes demanding, clamoring for time and attention at the most inconvenient moments. Yikes. Now what? You face those same challenges—infants are born into your God-family every day. Every day people cross your path and attend your church who need care, time, and attention as they learn about this new world they’ve just entered. And like the older sibling, you’ve been chosen to help that baby, to watch over that baby—even when it’s awkward or inconvenient! Are you ready?
Thank God for accompanying you on your journey and for how far He’s brought you.
Ask Him to help you be ready to care for the newborns, the just-saved brothers and sisters He is bringing into your world.
